About this deal

McGraw-Hill's Dictionary of American Slang and Colloquial Expressions Copyright © 2006 by The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. Matteo's immediate contempt and animosity toward Violet is just as palpable as the chemistry between them. Taking us on a journey across the pond, Bromley has crafted a sharp, witty cast of characters you can't help but fall for. this American woman shows up in a room filled with Italian couturiers and fabric designers and instantaneously those Italian women become her fairy godmothers.

Violet does everything she can to avoid crossing paths with him, but eventually, they bump into each other. But eventually that has to serve some purpose where they address it if she continues to comment on it, and it never really turns into anything. A total page-turner of a book, transporting me straight to beautiful Italy and the glamorous world of fashion design. Her school (clearly it is FIT but it is never named) has a competition where the top 3 fashion design students go to Rome and intern at a top fashion house and get advice and ideas for creating a 5 piece mini-collection where one will be named the winner. While Violet and Matt do have some great moments together and some really fun banter, I didn’t feel like the romance was strong enough. If this went from a semi open door book to a closed door romance, again — it would still be just as enjoyable! That or “When in Rome…”, either case, Violet is taking both head on as she lands in Rome and gears up for an internship of a lifetime. He’s one of the three interns in this design competition, and I would have been happy if there was no romance at all and the story just focused on him and his friendship with Violet. I am already adding this novel to my 'All Time Favorites' shelf where it will join one of her other novels "Talk Bookish to Me".

But the more we get to witness Sam in action, the more it becomes clear that things aren’t nearly as perfect as they seem.I have been meaning to read a novel by Kate Bromley for a while now, and I'm thrilled I started with Ciao For Now. This is a mostly lighthearted story but there is still plenty of depth as well and I thought the combo was perfect. These two also seem much younger than the 29 (Violet) and 32 (Matt), neither one of them acted mature enough to convince me they were the ages they were supposed to be.
