About this deal

I’ve been using the headphones for a couple of weeks now, on and off, and have only managed to get the battery down to 70%. If you want added functionality without memorizing too many gestures, the button-based Crusher ANC 2 may appeal. It certainly adds to the intensity of the track – as intense as a demon-slaying anthem ought to be – but you end up losing the finer details amid all the vibrations. The listening test also warrants a few red marks against it; due to the background noise intrusion, some very quiet tones are overshadowed and difficult to notice.

com is a leading authority on technology, delivering lab-based, independ If battery life and design materials aren't your biggest concern, however, these bass-heavy headphones will literally rattle your skull and keep outside noise at bay with ANC.cost less and last longer than their predecessors, but the main draw here is the crazy amount of bass they can produce. So I would suggest you to use another earpads or the same you used on the EVO's to "almost" match the bass rumbling on the ANC's, I can now feel the bass on my top head, something funny that happens in the EVOs. With the latter, you can perform actions including playing/pausing, skipping tracks, changing volume, swapping out ANC modes and even adjusting the Crusher level, just by saying “Hey, Skullcandy”. For reference, I wore the Crusher ANC 2 with sunglasses for over an hour walking in approximately 27 degrees Celsius weather, and yes, it was hot, but so was the environment. Skullcandy includes a nice wired cable with a mic and remote if you want to use the Crusher ANC when the juice runs out.

I have yet to find similar issues in the Crusher ANC 2 and feel I could easily wear them for longer listening sessions. Yes, it’s impressive and the insane vibrations do make you go “ooft”, but for when you actually want to listen to your music, I found anywhere between level two to five – at a maximum – did enough to improve my enjoyment. The latest iteration keeps the Sensory Bass slider and large, easy-to-use buttons but adds active noise cancelling (ANC) to the company’s flagship over-ear headphone. It's just too bad it makes some compromises along the way: Compared to the previous generation Crusher 360 that had a metal construction, Skullcandy has gone with a mostly plastic build for the Crusher ANC. The cups can fold up into the headband, which is useful if you need to stick them in a coat pocket or bag. They mention that the bass is absolutely amazing, the build quality looks like it's a tank, and the ANC is good. Don’t let the focus on bass put you off if you listen to other genres though, as the Skullcandy Crusher ANC 2 handles them well. For movies they can make the scenes look LEGENDARY and this part is what I love about them the most as I have connected them to my TV and everything about the sound there is perfect. A practical possibility with the Crusher ANC is the ability to connect with Tile, a Bluetooth tracker.

The app might feel slightly overwhelming in its scope but some sections are more essential than others. The acoustic guitar and Coulton’s vocals were both great showcases for the Crusher ANC 2’s treble capacity, and while there was a noticeable ceiling on the higher notes, what was there was airy enough to ensure that things never felt cramped. This result also reaffirms the mission statement of the Crusher manufacturers: Many tracks sound as though the band themselves were standing right in front of you, delivering an almost pure live experience. The ear cushions are PU leather and very plush, and there’s further padding on the headband which adds to the comfort. The voice commands were extremely effective, always catching my speech on the first attempt and following through on the command within two seconds. It can also feel goofy to say “Skullcandy” to your headphones in public, but that’s how many of us felt about saying “Siri,” and, well, that still inhibits some folks. The test takes only a couple of minutes and it really works to build a more balanced sound signature.
