Portwenn itself is brought to life by its rich array of characters including the formidable Sally Tishell who runs the local chemist, Bert Large and his son Al, local policemen Mark Mylow and Joe Penhale, Doc Martin's aunt Dr Ruth Ellingham and, of course, the primary school teacher who fell for the man they thought had no heart, but she found it; Louisa Glasson who would become Louisa Ellingham. At home, Martin and his wife Louisa ( Caroline Catz – DCI Banks, In Fabric) have welcomed a beautiful baby daughter, Mary Elizabeth, a sister for four-year-old James Henry, so there’s plenty more for the family to contend with. A few episodes on a couple of discs have very poor sound (like listening to it in a tunnel) and others have poor picture quality, slightly out of focus looking, definitely still watchable though. Following its run on ITV, the wonderful final series of this nationally cherished franchise – which has attracted audiences in excess of 10 million – Doc Martin Series 10 is set for its DVD release on 12 December 2022 from Acorn Media International. The set also features special features such as behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the cast and crew, and audio commentaries.
