About this deal

I think it’s healthier (and more practical) to reserve judgment on what I will or will not like until I find out through my own experience, rather than just make shit up and hope it works out well. However, I can’t help but wonder about the relationship between the financial realities of publishing and the profitability of our anger. Every challenge taught her a valuable lesson about resilience and self-motivation allowing her to develop an unshakable positive mindset, along with a sense of humour. Sammy the goldfish at home isn’t the same goldfish that Mum and Dad gave me to look after when they went to Egypt. This book takes the reader on a journey detailing the life-changing events which tested Danielle's resilience and willpower.

At first I thought, Psss…I don’t know who Shawn’s referring to, but he damn sure ain’t talking about me!

Now, in It's No Secret, a strong, resilient Carmen bares all, telling her side of the story and leaving no detail unturned—with the true candor and raw emotion of someone who has been there, done that, and survived. This is the confirmation bias on steroids, and it can be dangerous: taking on risky business ventures or investments, ignoring red flag behaviors from a romantic partner, denying personal problems or health issues, avoiding necessary confrontations, failing to weigh the possibility of failure in decision making, and so on. I appreciate Penny Joelson's writing with the quality of each character that really impressed me making me want to read on and know more about each one. Following being accepted in the Faber and Faber novel writing programme in 2015 he fine tuned his hand and during that 6 month training programme 'Our Little Secret' was born. The premise of this book hooked me immediately: Jemma, a sixteen-year-old girl with severe cerebral palsy who cannot speak or move, learns the identity of a killer—from the killer himself.

Hill’s book, launched immediately after The Great Depression, focused intently on making money and getting rich. I was a detective for 12 years and thought I’d heard pretty much everything but Danielle’s book offered me new, invaluable insight into the mind of a child experiencing abuse.

While Wiz talked, I had the distinct impression someone was watching me with an intense, soul-piercing stare. I consider extremely lucky and privileged to get expert guidance and coaching from the best coach Krishnan Raman Sir.
